Embodiment and Insight - Online Retreat
Date: 18/05/2020 - 22/05/2020
Location: Online

During this online home retreat we will be exploring the foundational Buddhist teachings on Mindfulness practice that have profoundly influenced and shaped contemporary Mindfulness based programmes such as Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction.

The retreat is primarily intended for those teaching or training to teach such programmes, though others who have an established personal mindfulness practice will be welcome.

There will be two main teaching sessions each day from 9.30 to 10.30am and 6.15 to 7.15pm BST, and those following the retreat are asked to attend these if possible. There will also be other guided sessions during the day, and the opportunity for small group meetings. We will be using zoom as the online platform.

This retreat meets the Module 3 requirements of the Oxford Mindfulness Centre's Teacher Training pathway.

The retreat will be taught by two experienced teachers of Mindfulness Based Approaches and Buddhist Insight Meditation, Jake Dartington and Chris Cullen.

Jake Dartington has practised meditation since 1995 and has been teaching retreats and courses since 2007. He has completed many extended periods of silent retreat and trained as a Dharma teacher with Christina Feldman. He has also studied Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction and Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy at Bangor University and teaches mindfulness courses in Nottingham. and has aching retreats and courses since 2007.
