Scientific theory and research are important underpinnings of MBCT. Effective teachers need to understand the evidence base in order to communicate with potential participants and other interested people about research evidence and the limitations of current knowledge. This annual update provides an informative summary of the latest research on mindfulness and MBCT that will help teachers appreciate the scientific foundations of their work and respond to questions from their participants and others. (This event may also be of interest to those who are not trained to teach and would like to gain insight into recent mindfulness research).
PLEASE NOTE: Most of this update will be the same presentation as Ruth Baer delivered at the OMF Trained Teacher Gathering in September 2024, together with a small amount of new content. Those who were at the Gathering, need to be aware that they will already have heard much of the material so may choose not to attend this workshop. If you missed this event or would like to hear it again, you're welcome to join.
This presentation may be of interest to anyone who'd like to know more about mindfulness research.
Please be aware that here in the UK we moved from BST to GMT in the last weekend of October. If you are joining from a different time zone, please check how this relates to your own.
Joining instructions will be sent out up to two days before the event. If you haven't received anything by the day of the session, please check in case they've landed in your junk mail box and reach out to us if need be.
